October 13th – 15th 2017
Walking, Yoga, Meditation, Silence with Roz Robinson:
Our lives are full of noise and distractions every minute of the day; from the moment we get up in the morning to the moment we go to bed, not a second goes by where we are not being subjected to disturbances; either externally (media, work pressures, relationship problems etc. etc..) or internally through our emotions and thoughts (guilt, self-loathing, jealously etc. etc..).
This weekend will be an opportunity for those of you who would like to step back from the demands of modern life and give yourself the time and space to discover the extraordinary peace that lies within us and in the world around us.
Walking in nature in silence can be a profound meditation; it can help to release the tensions that we, often unknowingly, hold on to and over the weekend Roz will be guiding two walks, of up to two and a half hours. There will also be other periods of silence during the weekend along with three yoga classes that will focus upon using the breath and movement to facilitate a deepening of our connection with our bodies at both a physical and an emotional level; giving a perfect opportunity to use the physical practice of yoga to encourage an acceptance and better understanding of ourselves.
There will also be guided deep rest/lying down and seated meditation sessions that will use the breath to soothe and quieten the mind and allow us to practice being the observer of our thoughts.
Weather permitting, there will be the opportunity also to connect with the garden, as a little gentle weeding is always much appreciated!
The teaching is offered on a donation-only basis and you will be given the opportunity to make a financial contribution at the end of the weekend. The cost for dormitory accommodation and vegetarian meals, including refreshments, is £140 for the whole retreat (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).
This retreat is open to everyone; however, please bear in mind that the walks will be up to two and a half hours long over the South Downs. Please also remember that a retreat needs to be approached with a degree of care and respect, both for ourselves and for others, and we ask that you participate fully in the schedule. This creates a strong ‘container’ for the powerful transformative experience that being on retreat can be.
To register please email us via the boxes below; we will send you a booking form for you to complete and return to us. Please then also pay a (non-refundable) deposit of £80 to secure your place. We will confirm your registration with you when we receive your payment. We ask that you pay the balance two weeks before the event.
