This Heart’s Potential – An INSIGHT MEDITATION Weekend Retreat in Silence with Kirsten Kratz:
‘Many of us feel that we have had to turn the precious gift of being alive into a routine existence, thus limiting or forgetting our innate depth and potential. During the weekend together we will explore how the qualities of compassionate presence, deep listening and energised enquiry can re-awaken our heart-mind to meet the whole of life with greater reverence, freedom and wonder, in an ever-deepening journey of discovery of what it may mean to be fully human.’… Kirsten
Insight Meditation connects us with our capacity to be present in each moment, with a warm and open-hearted attention to every experience. From this quality of being present, our heart and mind can awaken to a depth of peace and clarity which liberates us from the power of craving, negativity and confusion. Wisdom born of seeing deeply into what is true reveals a natural freedom in life and a genuine love and compassion for others, for ourselves and for all of life.
This retreat will emphasize simply being present and opening to the way things are, as the ground of wellbeing and spiritual awakening. Amidst the pressures of modern living, meditation offers a direct pathway to discover inner peace, and cultivate a boundless open-hearted relationship to life. It will be an opportunity to engage in sustained meditation practice, in an atmosphere of silence. There will be sitting, walking and standing meditations, dharma teachings, group meetings with Kirsten and instructions on bringing awareness to every part of our experience. Suitable for beginners and experienced meditators.
KIRSTEN KRATZ has practised Buddhist meditation in Asia and the West since 1993. She started teaching in 2006. One of her particular passions is exploring how wisdom teachings can foster appropriate responses to the challenges of our time; she is a leading teacher at Gaia House, is co-initiator of the Dharma Action Network for Climate Engagement: DANCE and teaches retreats with SanghaSeva combining Dharma practice and Service.
For dormitory accommodation, including bedlinen, towels, use of the facilities etc and vegetarian food (organic where possible) & refreshments, and a contribution toward Kirsten’s travel expenses is £155. The teachings will be offered on a donation basis (Dana) and are not included in the price of the retreat.
Kirsten is giving her time, energy and wisdom freely. You will have the opportunity to show your appreciation of this at the end of the retreat, when you will be able to make a donation.
To offer and receive without a price helps us to cultivate trust in life and to connect with generosity as a spiritual value.
