Walking, Yoga, Meditation, Silence

“Returning Home to Ourselves”

A Weekend Retreat in Silence with Roz Robinson:

Our lives are so full of noise and distractions; we are so busy that there is not enough time to get to know ourself – instead we rush around with our minds on autopilot for most, if not all, of our lives.

The retreats that Roz runs allow you the opportunity to step back from life, to make the time and space for yourself so that you develop a better understanding of who you really are.

We can lead a happier and more fulfilling life when we can recognise and value ourselves.

We are extraordinarily fortunate and privileged in that Gayles is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by National Trust land, Country Park and Friston Forest. Consequently we have access to the most stunningly beautiful landscape all around.

  • –  The walks de-stress and ground us; giving us the opportunity to reconnect with nature.
  • –  Gentle yoga with breath work helps to restore the natural equilibrium of the body and mind before meditation.
  • –  Meditation gives us a better understanding of the mind, the opportunity to observe our thoughts and to learn how to focus our awareness.
  • –  Silence might seem a little strange and peculiar to you if you have not experienced it before but actually it is a very helpful container in which we can let go of habitual conditioning that drives our behaviour. It is the jewel that shines a light on our true inner being – giving us the opportunity to re-discover who we really are and to experience our true nature.

Roz has an open, grounded and warm approach; her practice is gentle, deep and rewarding. You can expect a special weekend where you will be guided through some of the most beautiful landscape in England, safely held in silence with the time and space to allow you to explore your self and to reconnect with  nature. This is a retreat to revive, calm and inspire you and is suitable for both experienced practitioners and people new to yoga, meditation and/or to silence although, of course, you will need to be of average fitness for the walks.

The teaching is offered on a donation-only basis and you will be given the opportunity to make a financial contribution at the end of the weekend.
The cost for dormitory accommodation and vegetarian meals, including refreshments, is £150 for the whole retreat (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).

This retreat is open to everyone, however, please bear in mind that the walks will be up to two and a half hours long over the South Downs. Please also remember that a retreat needs to be approached with a degree of care and respect, both for ourselves and for others, and we ask that you participate fully in the schedule. This creates a strong ‘container’ for the powerful transformative experience that being on retreat can be.

To register please email us and we will send you a booking form for you to complete and return to us. Please then also pay a (non-refundable) deposit of £80 to secure your place. We will confirm your registration with you when we receive your form and payment. We ask that you pay the balance two weeks before the event. You can find the payment details on our booking form.
