RETREATS

Retreats in silence involve removing as many of the distractions of normal everyday life as possible. We ask you to turn off and put away your mobile phones and digital devices when you are here. Most of the retreat is in silence with opportunities for you to voice any questions or requests you might have. Roz will be on hand guiding you through all of the practices throughout the retreat.

Silence might seem strange and a little intimidating if you haven’t experienced it before. Many people feel anxious the first time and that is to be expected; it is a new and very different experience. But many participants come back having loved it and only very occasionally do people find it overly challenging. There is so much to learn about oneself in the process of a retreat which would be missed if we were busy talking to one another.

“Gayles has been what I have needed for a long time. The peaceful silence and beautiful space in nature has felt healing after the hectic-ness of normal life back at home. The stresses of life which seem to have become increased since coming out of covid lockdowns. Food also delicious. Thank you so much Roz and Derry.”

I loved the silence, which surprised me. The food was delicious and plentiful. Thanks to Roz, Derry and the team for providing this oasis of calm.”
Uta Langley
“Gayles is such a special place. You’re a welcome guest in a family home. Stunning views of the sea, incredible walks nearby. Just being in the gardens and eating the sensational food is healing in itself. Then there’s the wise, down-to-earth, very affecting and very applicable practice and teachings.”
Retreat guest
"The retreat was all I had hoped it would be - and much more than I imagined! A great re-set, that put me back in touch with myself. I found the walks very spiritual and insightful – and just loved them. What a special place and setting. And what a special teacher.”
